Terms & Conditions

1. Who we are

Kroki is operated by VMB support, established in the Netherlands and registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (Kamer van Koophandel) under number 74677209. Registered address: Prins Willem-Alexanderstraat 8, 1396 KC Baambrugge, the Netherlands. VAT / BTW number: NL002119325B34. You can reach us at hi@kroki.app. In these terms, "we", "us" and "Kroki" mean VMB support.

2. These terms

These terms apply to every order placed through kroki.app and the Kroki studio. By placing an order you accept them. We may update them from time to time; the version in force when you place your order is the one that applies to that order.

3. What you're buying

Kroki turns a photo or drawing you upload into a framed print or an unframed print, styled after the great painting movements. Every item is personalised and made to order — it is produced specifically for you, from your image, in the size, frame and paper you choose. Colours on screen are an accurate preview but can differ slightly from the printed result.

4. Prices

All prices are shown in euros and include VAT at the rate applicable to your delivery country. Shipping within the delivery area is included in the price shown at checkout unless stated otherwise. The price authoritative for your order is the one shown at the moment you pay.

5. Ordering and payment

Your order is placed when you complete checkout, and is only confirmed once your payment has succeeded (we use Stripe, including Apple Pay, to process payments securely — we never see or store your card details). You'll receive an order confirmation by email. If payment fails, no order and no obligation to produce is created.

6. Delivery

We currently ship within the European Union only. Production typically takes 1–2 working days, and delivery within the EU typically 5–7 working days after that. These times are estimates, not guarantees. Risk of loss or damage passes to you on delivery.

7. Right of withdrawal — personalised goods

Because every Kroki item is personalised and made to your specification, the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal for distance sales does not apply to your order (EU Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU, article 16(c); Dutch Civil Code, article 6:230p under f). By ordering a personalised item you acknowledge this. This does not affect your legal rights if an item is faulty or not as described (see section 8).

8. Faulty or non-conforming items

Your item must match what you ordered and be free of defects. Under Dutch and EU law you have a legal guarantee of conformity: what you receive must correspond to what you ordered, and this guarantee lasts well beyond delivery. If your item arrives damaged, defective or materially different from your approved preview, please email hi@kroki.app with a photo — ideally within 14 days of delivery so we can put it right quickly, but this is a fast-track and not a deadline: reporting a defect later does not remove your statutory rights. We'll reprint it or refund you. Your statutory consumer rights under EU and Dutch law are unaffected by these terms.

9. Your image and your privacy

You confirm that you either created the drawing or artwork you upload or have the permission of the person who did — and, where that person is a child, that you are their parent or guardian or have their permission — and that your upload doesn't infringe anyone else's rights. You grant us a limited licence to process your image solely to create your product. We do not use your images to train AI. We keep only what we need, store it under an anonymous device identifier, and automatically delete originals and generated files after delivery plus 90 days — and you can delete everything at any time with one tap. See our Privacy Notice for the full detail of what we process, why, who we share it with, and your rights.

10. Intellectual property

The Kroki name, brand, website and software are ours and may not be copied or reused without permission. Your uploaded image and the finished artwork made from it remain yours; we claim no ownership of them.

11. Our liability

We are liable for damage in accordance with Dutch law. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss that was not reasonably foreseeable. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for intent or gross negligence on our part, or any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under mandatory consumer law.

12. Complaints and disputes

If something's wrong, please contact us first at hi@kroki.app — we aim to acknowledge complaints within two working days and to put things right quickly. We are not currently affiliated with an out-of-court dispute-resolution (ADR) body; this does not affect any mandatory dispute-resolution rights you have under the law of your country of residence.

13. Governing law

These terms and any order are governed by Dutch law. You may bring proceedings against us in the courts of the Netherlands or in the courts of your own country of residence, as EU rules allow; we will bring any claim against you only in the courts of your country of residence. This does not affect any mandatory consumer-protection rights of your country of habitual residence.
